There are several ways of finding a coach but before you start looking, take time to thing about:

  • what you would like to achieve through engaging a coach
  • what style works best for you
  • whether you want your coach to be local and be able to meet face to face
  • whether you are looking for a coach with specific experience or background
  • what you can afford to pay

It is also useful to read the How do I Choose a Coach? briefing, which outlines another of other important issues to consider.

Ways to find a coach include:

The personal recommendation of friends or colleagues

The recommendation of your Personnel/Human Resources professional at work

Lists of qualified and accredited coaches provided online by coaching professional bodies or training schools and online coaching directories.  Have a look at our other briefing What are online coaching directories for more information.
