Definately worth reading, AGAIN...
Some people may find this a little "out there" because of Talane's dependence on principals like positive thought that have not been scientifically established yet. It is easy to see though, how a person who takes proper care of himself and knows his own value will be more confident in convincing an employer, or even a prospective date, of the same.
With tips such as getting rid of goals that you have no motivation to work on, hiring help in areas that you detest and doing the work that you love, Talane promotes a low stress, efficient alternative to the high stress obligations that so many of us seem to be willing to blindly burden ourselves with. She offers suggestions such as paying off debt and protecting your assets, encouraging the idea of becoming financially secure, and eventually financially independent.
Talane gives some very valuable insight, and I really enjoyed reading this book and seeing how she advocates arranging your time and resources in the most efficient and valuable way possible so that you reduce your stress and are able to become more confident, more efficient, and more productive. It was easy for me to read this book, picture where I want to be in 5 years and start making my way there.
I give most of my books away on BookMooch or Paperback Swap when I'm done reading them... but not this one. This is one of the few books I have on my list to go back and re-read.
A good improvement resource to be revisited often
As a reader of many business and self-improvement tomes, this book is worthy of being devoured word-for-word and will be referred to often. There is not much new under the sun, but this book presents things in an intelligent adult manner with specific examples. Each section begins with a concise description of the topic and then progresses into the example, I enjoyed the first paragraphs more than the examples and found myself highlighted 3 to 4 sentences under each topic to refer to later.
Well written and a good overall primer that brings coaching guidance together in one book.
Great self coaching guide
This book is filled with great tips to help people balance their lives. The author divides the book into ten sections that cover the major areas of work and life including home, money, time, relationships, and work. She offers simple, practical tips that are easy to implement in your life. If you aren't able to work directly with a personal life coach, this is a great alternative.
In Coach Yourself to Success Talane Miedander shares the same core principles that she applies when personally coaching executives and international business leaders from companies such as AT+T, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Giorgio Armani. Talane shows readers how to tap into their natural motivation and leverage their strengths to achieve the results they desire.
