Affirmation

I am where I want to be in life.

I have realistic expectations of myself and I let go of the idea that I must be perfect and have all my dreams at once.

It is good to have clear goals - and it is good to know what I want out of life and know how I plan to get there. But all I really have is the present. I let go of the tendency to trample on this moment, to devalue the beauty of now in my pursuit of someday.

Because of the power of momentum, I strive to learn how to slow down in my constant quest for more in order to acknowledge the beauty and value of where I am.

As long as I am continually growing and moving forward, I am content. I let go of the idea that my happiness hinges on getting everything I want. I strive to be my best and I let that be enough.

As I let go of the idea that I can control the future, I find myself opening up to a new level of richness and beauty that is only available to those who slow down and recognize the value of this moment.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1.      Do I have realistic expectations of myself and others?

2.      Do I allow myself to appreciate the moment?

3.      Do I live in the present or the future?
