1 Hold the front page!

Hot news topics can illustrate real issues from a very different perspective. A quotation, a couple of sentences of summary, and some questions on a news item, can quickly engage your readers and trigger some questions for them.

For instance – the current economic situation can encourage us to consider what’s really important to us , how to deal with change and uncertainty, and how we make the choice and take action to change career direction.

Here is another example – Tiger Woods’ decision to take a break in his professional career to address his personal issues illustrates the connection between our private and public lives, and the impact of our personal life on our career. It also a talking point from which to explore the connection between authenticity, integrity and success.

What have you personally experienced that you would like to share? For example, you could write about a piece of music, a film, or an exhibition that you have visited. What did you get from this experience and what would you recommend? How will you look to draw on this in your coaching and how could your readers benefit use these experiences?

3 Let’s talk!

Interview someone who has addressed or is dealing with issues that are of interest to your readers. If you coach new business owners, this may be someone who has successfully set up their own business - they could share the key factors which they see as critical to the success of any business.
