How does it work?

  • You register to take part in Peer Coaching.
  • We match you with a coach and a client to work with.
  • You contact your client and your coach contacts you to arrange suitable times and dates for your coaching sessions. You agree the frequency and length of sessions. You complete no later than four months after you start Peer Coaching.
  • You work with your coach and client either over the telephone or via VOIP (Skype or other internet call provider)
  • You coach your client for a minimum of 6 hours in total. Your coach coaches you for a minimum of 6 hours in total.
  • You give your coach feedback on their coaching and your client gives you feedback on your coaching at the end of the programme.
  • Your client gives you a testimonial

How much does it cost?

This is a free service for members of Coaches Plus. 

But if you are not a member, you can take part in one round for £25 (around $35 USD)

What qualifications or experience do I need to have to take part?

You need to work to a Coaching professional code of ethics.  If you are a member of a coaching professional body, you have a Code of Ethics.  If not, we ask you to work to the ICF (International Coach Federation) Code of Ethics.

When does it start and how long does it last?

Rounds start every three months and last until you have completed your coaching hours - we recommend that you aim to complete in three months.  Please see the Peer Coach page for the dates of rounds.

How many times can I participate?

You can participate as many times as you like but we recommend that you work with one client and one coach only in each round.

Can I use these hours for credentialling or accreditation by my professional body?

These as these are bartered services, you can count the hours as paid hours for the purposes of ICF credentialling. 

If you belong to another professional body, you will need to check whether they count as paid or pro-bono hours.

How do I sign up for the programme?

Just go to the Peer Coach page on our website to register if you are a member.  If you are not a member, you can pay for a round.  Visit the Peer Coach page and you will see a buy now button, once you have paid, you will be taken the registration page.

What are my responsibilities?

You must contact your coach within three days of the start of the programme.  If your client has not contacted you within three days of the programme you should contact them within the next three days.

If you don't contact either your coach or client within these deadlines - we reserve the right to remove you from the programme and reallocate your coach and client to work with another coach.

If things are not working out either with your coach or client - explain why - and if there are still problems - get in touch with us.

What if things are not working out either with my coach or my client?

Contact the person first to discuss this – and then - if there are still problems - get in touch with us.  We aim to match you to another coach or client.  If this is not possible, we will prioritise your request for a re-matching for the next available start date.
